3 Min Read Bharat Electronics (BEL) and Hindustan Aeronautics (HAL) among other defence stocks are in the spotlight on Tuesday, August 18, after the Department of Defence Production (DDP), Ministry of Defence, notified the sixth Positive Indigenisation List (PIL) comprising 405 strategically important defence items, with an estimated business potential of ₹3,070 crore. The list comprises 389 items for Defence Public Sector Undertakings (DPSUs) and 16 items for the Indian Coast Guard (ICG).
BEL Targets Rise on Q1 Results
Jefferies and Macquarie raised their price targets for BEL shares following positive Q1 results, while Nomura and Motilal Oswal issued mixed views. Shares are up but have fallen slightly.

Sequentially, however, the PSU company’s net profit dropped nearly 52% from Rs 2,225 crore reported in the fourth quarter of FY26. Revenue from operations meanwhile grew around 25% YoY, but declined 46% QoQ to Rs 5,546.98 crore during the April-June quarter of FY27.
