CEAT Q1 results worsen by 96%

CEAT wins ₹107 crore GST appeal
2 Min Read Tyre maker CEAT has won an appeal against a ₹107 crore Goods and Services Tax (GST) demand, with the company saying the order will have no impact on its financials, operations or other activities. In an exchange filing on Thursday, August 27, 2026, CEAT said it received an Order-in-Appeal from the Commissioner (Appeals), CGST and Central Excise, Appeals Thane Commissionerate, Mumbai, on August 26.
CEAT faces margin squeeze amid expansion plans
CEAT’s Q1 FY27 performance presents a sharp growth-profitability divergence: revenue expanded by more than a fifth, but operating margins contracted and consolidated profit was almost wiped out as raw-material inflation and higher finance costs offset demand gains. Consolidated revenue from operations rose 22.4 per cent to ₹4,318 crore in Q1 FY27 from ₹3,529 crore in Q1 FY26. Net profit, however, plunged 96.4 per cent to ₹4 crore from ₹112 crore during the corresponding period.
