MP calls for FACT revival
Hibi Eden, MP, has sought the intervention of the Union Fertilizer Ministry to protect FACT and extend the policy and financial support required for its revival, modernization and long-term growth. In a letter to Jagat Prakash Nadda, Union Minister for Chemicals and Fertilizers, Eden said FACT is facing an unprecedented financial crisis due to escalating raw material costs, mounting financial liabilities and severe market pressures.
FACT halts ammonium sulphate production
Public sector Fertilisers and Chemicals Travancore Ltd (FACT) has suspended production of ammonium sulphate following supply chain disruptions and soaring raw material costs triggered by geopolitical developments. However, it will not have any impact on farmers as the Indian government has imported more of the fertilizer than the suspended output. Expecting a crisis, the Fertilizer Ministry had directed the import ammonium sulphate.

2 Min Read Kochi-based state-owned fertiliser maker Fertilisers and Chemicals Travancore (FACT) reported a consolidated net loss of ₹61.94 crore for the quarter ended June 2026, compared with a net profit of ₹4.28 crore a year earlier, as its operating performance deteriorated. Revenue from operations rose 20.2% year-on-year to ₹1,253.4 crore from ₹1,042.8 crore in the corresponding quarter last year.
FACT, BPCL sign acid supply deal
The Fertilisers and Chemicals Travancore Ltd (FACT) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd (BPCL) for the long-term supply of sulphuric acid from the upcoming sulphuric acid plant at BPCL’s Kochi Refinery to the fertiliser company. The MoU was signed in the presence of BPCL Chairman and Managing Director Sanjay Khanna and FACT Chairman and Managing Director S.
