GRSE signs ₹32,000 crore Navy corvette contract, shares jump 9%
Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers shares rose over 9% intraday, their best one-day gain in six months, after the company signed a ₹32,000 crore contract for five next-generation corvettes for the Indian Navy. The Defence Ministry also sealed contracts worth ₹53,866 crore with GRSE and Goa Shipyard Limited to procure eight next-generation warships. GRSE was the lowest bidder (L1) for the corvette project, which is to be completed within nine years and four months.

India has signed defence contracts worth ₹53,866 crore to build eight next-generation corvettes for the Indian Navy, split between Garden Reach Shipbuilders and Engineers Ltd (GRSE) and Goa Shipyard Limited (GSL). The acquisition is intended to strengthen the Navy's ability to monitor maritime activity and protect vital sea routes. GRSE's share covers five vessels under a contract worth about ₹32,000 crore, awarded after it emerged as the lowest bidder (L1) for the project.
