HEG profits rise 16.7%

HEG’s revenue from operations rose 11.1% to ₹680.8 crore, up from ₹612.8 crore a year ago, reflecting steady growth in its core graphite electrode business. HEG shares adjust 64% lower after graphite electrode demerger
After closing at Rs 728.25 apiece on Friday, HEG shares opened around 64% lower at Rs 260 apiece on Monday as it adjusted to the demerger on the record date. The stock now trades excluding the value of the graphite electrodes business. The company currently has a market capitalisation of around Rs 5,095 crore.

HEG fixes record date for demerger of graphite electrodes business
The graphite electrodes business will be transferred to HEG Graphite, which is proposed to be renamed HEG and operate as a pure-play graphite electrodes company. The existing listed company will retain the advanced materials, battery energy solutions and green power businesses and is proposed to be renamed HEG Advanced Materials after the demerger.
