Lupin Q2 profit drops 22% to ₹1,155 crore on ₹316 crore antitrust settlement
Lupin's revenue from operations rose 11.01% year-on-year to ₹7,827.26 crore in Q2 FY27, even as net profit fell to ₹1,155.30 crore from ₹1,484.83 crore a year earlier. The decline was driven by an exceptional item: a ₹316.28 crore settlement of one of the company's ongoing antitrust matters, made without admission of liability or wrongdoing. US sales, Lupin's largest market at 39% of overall revenue, grew 9.3% year-on-year to ₹3,020.2 crore but fell 12.1% quarter-on-quarter from ₹3,434.8 crore.

Citi downgrades Lupin to Sell, cuts target to Rs 2,050
According to an ET Now report citing a Citi note, the downgrade reflects the brokerage’s concerns over Lupin’s US business, which has been a key driver of the company’s growth and profitability. Citi expects Lupin’s US base business to lose momentum, with sales projected to decline to around $975 million by FY29. The brokerage also sees pressure on profitability, estimating that margins could fall to around 20% from the current level of nearly 30%.
