ONGC to invest ₹30,000 crore, taps BP to boost output
ONGC has announced a capital expenditure of over ₹30,000 crore for the current fiscal year, with plans to sustain ₹20,000 crore annually until FY30, focusing on rejuvenating mature fields. The company is partnering with BP to enhance recovery from ageing assets and is also setting up a trading unit and building a 1.75 million tonne strategic petroleum reserve to bolster energy security amid West Asia tensions.

ONGC gets US approval to resume Venezuela oil operations
3 Min Read Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) said its overseas arm ONGC Videsh (OVL) received the required approval from the US government in July 2026 to resume oil and gas operations in Venezuela. In a clarification to the exchanges on Tuesday, August 18, ONGC said OVL has two assets in Venezuela, San Cristobal and Carabobo-1, and had been pursuing license authorisation from the US Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) for operations in the country.
