Zerodha's Kamath brothers acquire 6.72% stake in Viceroy Hotels
Nithin Kamath and Nikhil Kamath, founders of Zerodha, have acquired 6.72 per cent stake in Viceroy Hotels during the September quarter. According to the latest shareholding disclosures, the Kamath brothers have invested through two separate investment vehicles, Kamath Associates and Nksquared. The investment comes at a time when Viceroy Hotels is seeking to build on the operational recovery achieved since its change in the management in 2023.

The investment was made through two entities, Kamath Associates and Nksquared, according to the company’s shareholding disclosures. Viceroy Hotels emerges from insolvency, expands hotel portfolio Viceroy Hotels had earlier entered the Corporate Insolvency Resolution Process after accumulating heavy debt under its previous promoter. Creditors were owed more than Rs 1,150 crore, while the company faced the possibility of liquidation.
